General Win7 & C&C Problems

A member of another board wanted to test out V|GO, but his OS says "no" (serious error).
Infos on his system are found here. Maybe some of you are familiar with Windows 7 and can help. Thanks in advance

I've not ran under Win7 (although I'm installing it early Jan), but it could be any number of things. If it's just ZH not running, try it in compatability mode - if it's VGO specifically, I need more detail.

At the moment, it's just ZH and he tested it with several compatibility modes and with admin rights.

I have Win7, ZH & V|GO installed and they work fine. My guess would be try a fresh install (game, software and if does not want to work at all just reinstall Win7).

I have also 64bit win7. It works fine for me.
(exept for the moment I could not see any fonts in ZH  Huh After a clean installation of win 7 it worked fine.)
I don't use comptability modus

Well I've just booted Win7 64 and it works fine out of the box with no changes.

Note I just tried running in full mode (rather than windowed mode) and I got a serious error. Try adding the -win flag. I also don't seem to be able to get a shellmap.

Anyone here got a "generals.exe appcrash" error in Win7 x32?
A friend downloaded it, the install was easy, but we can't get the game to run.
We have tried
-window mode (selected in launcher)
-custom options.ini  in c:/user/my documents..
-patch 1.01, 1.02 for TFD
-patch 1.08(gen)/1.04 (ZH)
-compatibility mode

He has a AMD Athlon x2, 2GB, Radeon 3870x2, widescreen 22"

I've no problem in x64, but given it runs as an x32 app and runs fine I'm not sure.

None of my friends experienced any of these problems and we're all using Windows 7. Try installing from another ZH source.
