Question on OS's
« on: 27 June 2010, 12:25:21 PM »

[Rant]

So im trying damn hard to load up Ubuntu 10.4 Lucid Lynx, on to my desktop, and i am having some trouble.

First i try the USB method.
1. I have downloaded the file from http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download completely.
2. I have followed the USB Instructions to the T, downloaded the http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/#download and load it up and run it as shown.

but this process tells me that 45 files are corrupted are Corrupted...

So then I try the CD method.
1. Same as above.
2. I follow THESE instruction on how to do it via CD using http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

but my dumb ass doesnt have a SINGLE blank CD-R/CD-RW in my house but i DO have blank DVD's from my pirating day.... <3 http://www.thepiratebay.org/ ....so i try using a DVD-RW and it burns fine onto the DVD but my desktop doesnt recognize these Staple brand shitty ones. So basically i gave up and ordered a "Free CD" from Ubuntu (and donated $20) and it will get here in a maximum of 10 weeks...

[/Rant]

But my question is...will ZH AND V|GO run on it? Also, will it slower?

If ZH runs on it, VGO should run on it, but there's a good chance you'll have to use WINE if there's not a native version (and I highly doubt there is). If it's running through WINE, it's emulating, so it will be slower.

What do you mean by clean sweep? If you want to format it, then Windows would need to be on a separate partition.

Perhaps your download was corrupted, did you download it again?
